Valakupių Rehabilitation Centre was established by the Council of the Affairs of the Disabled to the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on the 10th of February 2000. The Vilnius City Municipality registered the Statute on the 1st of March 2000.
Valakupių Rehabilitation Centre is a public non-profit independent institution established according to the law of the Republic of Lithuania and dealing in the field of social and health care, providing social and medical service for people with physical disabilities to achieve maximum self-sufficiency of a client, to develop independent living skills, providing services of development of vocational skills, occupation in order to widen a range of opportunities of integration handicapped into society. Centre is functioning in accordance to the legislation of the Republic of Lithuania and the Statute and embraces the rights of the non-profit institution.
The goals of the Centre are: by the means of comprehensive rehabilitation to seek for maximum self-sufficiency of a client, reimbursement of disability, implementation of the equal rights, development of vocational skills, promoting of participation of the disabled in social life, and to increase self-satisfaction in his or her mental or physical capacities.
